Grand Master Il K. Kim was born in Korea and began training in Tae Kwon Do as a child. His first instruction was in Seoul, Korea, and he evntually came to recognize the renowned Chayko Hyon as his own Tae Kwon Do Grand Master. He has been teaching in Minnesota since 1971. Grand Master Kim is a World Tae Kwon Do Federation Certified 8th Degree Black Belt. He has over 30 years of teaching experience and is recognized world wide as a leader in the international Tae Kwon Do community. He is also an international referee. Grandmaster Kim's philosophy is that nothing is impossible once you set your mind to it with enthusiasm and persistence, a philosophy he applies with gentle patience in helping all students achieve their full potential. He gives close, personal attention to the development of each student, building black belts who represent the best that the world of martial arts has to offer.
