Tae Kwon Do, as taught under the direction of Grand Master Il K. Kim, is a genuine and comprehensive martial art. It includes Ho Shin Sul (Self Defense), Poomse (Forms), Shin Boep (Fighting Skills), Kyupka (Breaking), Gyrogi (Sparring), Moo Gee Do (Weapons) and Korean terminology.
The first purpose of Tae Kwon Do is to develop strength of character in terms of the Tae Kwon Do tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. The second purpose is to develop mental strength and toughness in terms of a clear mind, clear thinking, mental focus and self confidence. The third purpose is to develop physical health, strength and flexibilty along with an effective set of practical self-defense and fighting skills.
Tae Kwon Do instruction by Grand Master Il K. Kim is professional and personal training for life. It will lead to a change of Body, a change of Mind and a change of Self, all for the good of the individual, family, and community.
